Welcome, vault-dwellers, to a culinary adventure like no other!

Every aspiring wastelander chef should master the art of crafting a quintessential Brahmin burger. It’s a journey into the untamed wilds, overcoming weird and obscure challenges, and embracing the pioneering spirit. That’s why we’ve chosen to showcase a Brahmin burger, symbolizing our relentless pursuit of culinary excellence.

Additionally, we’re thrilled to introduce a new line of Nuka-Cola products! While we hoped to unveil the official secret recipe, including its 17 unique fruits, legal hurdles prevented us from doing so. Nevertheless, our dedicated team of scientists has developed a formula that captures the iconic Nuka-Cola flavor while optimizing fruit usage by an impressive 566 percent. It’s our way of sharing a taste of the future with you!

Ingredients:

Dusty’s Brahmin Burger:

TO PREPARE THE BURGERS:
Once the all-clear signal resonates from your vault, signaling safe conditions:
Since bison wasn’t readily availableโ€”no surprise thereโ€”Dusty over at NCR Downtown swears by the delicious taste of Brahmin.
Begin by preheating the grill. In a sizable bowl, season the ground bison generously with salt and pepper, then divide it into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into patties slightly larger than the buns being used.
Coat the onion slices with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. Arrange the onions near the primary heat source on the grill and cook until nearly charred. Transfer them to a plate and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
Next, place the bison patties directly over the primary heat source on the grill. Cook each side for 4 minutes. During the final minute of cooking, add slices of cheese atop the patties, cover the grill, and allow the cheese to melt.
TO ASSEMBLE:
Begin assembling the burgers by placing the bottom half of a bun and generously spreading Nuka-Cola BBQ Sauce on it. Top with a leaf of butter lettuce and a portion of the grilled onions. Then, place the bison patty and a slice of tomato. Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.

  • 1 pound ground bison or ground beef
  • 2 round onion slices
  • Olive oil
  • 4 pretzel buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Nuka-Cola BBQ Sauce
  • 4 butter lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • Mayonnaise for serving
  • Salt and pepper

Nuka-Cola:

For crafting Nuka-Cola syrup:
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, combine water, sugar, orange zest, lime zest, lemon zest, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, coriander seeds, and star anise. Whisk until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain into an airtight container. Add orange, lime, and lemon juices (approximately ยฝ cup total). Incorporate browning sauce and vanilla extract. Once cooled, cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours, up to 2 weeks.
For a refreshing glass of Nuka-Cola:
Mix 1 cup seltzer water, ice, and 5 to 7 tablespoons of Nuka-Cola syrup in a glass. Stir well and enjoy the ice-cold taste of Nuka-Cola!
